“Join us as we recall the 1980s and Calgary, a city of fresh hope and new dreams, which ultimately garnered the 1988 Winter Olympics. As revealed in the artwork here, such gatherings speak to our very soul, speak of that eternal, poetic struggle to push limits, yet temper that force with spirit. Poetry in motion, and spirit – this is us.”
– David Brownridge, son of Bill Brownridge

Bill Brownridge was a Canadian artist instrumental in the bid book that led to the awarding of the 1988 Olympic Winter Games to Calgary. For it, he created 43 pieces of original art, including 33 mono prints. It was my great honour to design this gallery showcasing the art of such a local legend.
